Holy Cross Announces 2019 Men's Lacrosse Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head men’s lacrosse coach Peter Burke has announced the team’s schedule for the 2019 season. The men’s lacrosse 2019 slate includes 13 games and six at Kuzniewski Field.
Holy Cross will prepare for the season with four scrimmages. Holy Cross will travel to Rutgers (Jan. 19) and then host three home scrimmages, first with Bryant (Jan. 26) and then a double-header with Dartmouth and Sacred Heart (Feb. 2).
The Crusaders will open the 2019 season with a home game against Providence (Feb. 9) before hitting the road for two-consecutive games. Holy Cross will travel to Vermont on Feb. 16 and UMass Lowell on Feb. 19.
On Feb. 26, Holy Cross will host Harvard after capturing their first-ever program win over the Crimson in the 2018 season. The opening of March will consist of two challenging road games, traveling to Elite Eight participant Loyola Maryland on March 2 and nationally ranked Bucknell on March 6.
The Crusaders will return home on March 16 to play host to Army West Point (March 16 before taking on non-conference opponent Brown on March 18 in Providence. On March 30, Holy Cross will host Navy and then travel to Lafayette on April 6. The Crusaders will host Colgate on April 13.
Holy Cross will travel to Boston University on April 20 for the Turnpike Trophy game, which is part of the Crusaders’ rivalry series with the Terriers. The Crusaders will close the 2019 regular season on April 26 at Kuzniewski Field on April 26.
The Patriot League Tournament will feature a six-team field with a pair of quarterfinal games played at the site of the higher-seeded team. The six-seed will play at the three-seed and the fifth-seed at the fourth-seed. The quarterfinal winners will join the first and second-seeded teams at the site of the highest overall seed for the semifinal and final games. The Patriot League quarterfinals will be played on April 30, the semifinal on May 3 and the final on May 5.
