Seven Crusaders Named to All-Patriot League Teams

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Seven members of the Holy Cross football team have earned 2018 All-Patriot League honors, as announced by the conference office. Senior offensive lineman Brett Boddy, senior linebacker Ryan Brady, senior defensive lineman Teddy Capsis and sophomore offensive lineman Brian Foley were named to the first team, while junior running back Domenic Cozier, senior wide receiver Martin Dorsey and senior quarterback Geoff Wade received second team honors.

Boddy played in all 11 of Holy Cross’ games this year, starting every time at left guard. He was one of the leaders on an offensive line which paved the way for the Crusaders to rank second in the Patriot League in total offense (327.3 yards per game), rushing (132.5 yards per game) and scoring (24.4 points per game) this season. Over the course of his collegiate career, Boddy has played in 21 games with 11 starts.

Brady played in all 11 of the Crusaders’ games at linebacker this season, starting every time. He led the team with 121 total tackles, including 90 solo stops, two quarterback sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Brady also recorded three fumble recoveries, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a safety. He finished the season ranked first in the Patriot League in both tackles and fumble recoveries, while standing seventh in tackles for loss. Over the course of his career with the Crusaders, Brady totaled 258 tackles, eight sacks and 29 tackles for loss.

Capsis earns All-Patriot League honors for the second time in his career, after previously being a second team selection in 2017. He started all 11 games for the Crusaders at defensive end this season, totaling a team-best six quarterback sacks for 30 yards and 15 tackles for loss for 56 yards. Capsis also finished the year with 46 total tackles, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery. He ranked fifth in the Patriot League in tackles for loss, sixth in quarterback sacks and 42nd in total tackles. During his Holy Cross career, Capsis totaled 122 tackles, 16 sacks and 29 tackles for loss.

Foley played in all 11 of Holy Cross’ games this year, starting every time at left tackle. He was one of the leaders on an offensive line which paved the way for the Crusaders to rank second in the Patriot League in total offense (327.3 yards per game), rushing (132.5 yards per game) and scoring (24.4 points per game) this season. Over the course of his collegiate career, Foley has played in 22 games with 12 starts.

Cozier saw action in 10 games at tailback this season, starting eight times. He led the team with 643 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 130 carries. Cozier also caught 12 passes for 114 yards and score, and finished the year with 788 all-purpose yards and 54 points scored. He finished the season third in the Patriot League in both rushing yards and scoring, and fifth in all-purpose yards. During his career with the Crusaders, Cozier has rushed 219 times for 1,078 yards and 11 touchdowns, while catching 25 passes for 194 yards and a score.

Dorsey played in all 11 of the Crusaders’ games this season, starting every time at wide receiver. He led the team with 52 receptions for 663 yards and seven touchdowns, while his 42 points scored were the third-most on the team. Dorsey led the Patriot League in touchdown catches, while ranking third in both receptions and receiving yards, and seventh in scoring. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, he caught 96 passes for 1,259 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Wade saw action in 10 games at quarterback this year with eight starts, hitting on 154 of 255 passes for 1,844 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 102 times for 119 yards and a score, while finishing with 1,963 yards of total offense. Wade led the Patriot League in touchdown passes, while standing third in passing yards, total offense and pass efficiency (132.4 rating). During his career with the Crusaders, he has connected on 246 of 408 pass attempts for 3,048 yards and 23 touchdowns, in addition to rushing 150 times for 83 yards and a score.

Holy Cross concluded the 2018 season with an overall record of 5-6, and tied for second in the Patriot League with a 4-2 mark in conference games.
