The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 13, when it travels to Providence for a 7:00 p.m. game as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. The contest between the Crusaders and the Friars will be shown live on Fox Sports 2, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester and WVEI 103.7 FM in Providence.

Holy Cross is off to a 1-1 start, defeating Sacred Heart 93-81 and falling to No. 19 Michigan 56-37. Sophomore guard Austin Butler has led the team by averaging 14.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, while hitting 57.1 percent of his shots from three-point range. Senior guard Patrick Benzan has added 10.5 points and 3.0 assists per contest, and sophomore guard Caleb Green is chipping in with 8.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.

The Crusaders are now in their fourth year under head coach Bill Carmody, and are coming off a 2017-2018 season in which they went 12-19 overall and placed sixth in the Patriot League with an 8-10 mark in conference games. Senior forward Jehyve Floyd looks to lead the team this winter, after being named third team All-Patriot League and earning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2017-2018.

Providence stands 1-1 so far this season, defeating Siena 77-67 and falling to Wichita State 83-80. Freshman guard A.J. Reeves has led the Friars by averaging 24.0 points per game while hitting 64.3 percent of his three-point field goal attempts. Junior guard Alpha Diallo has added 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest, and senior guard Isaiah Jackson is chipping in with 12.5 points and 4.5 boards per game.

The Friars are coming off a 2017-2018 campaign in which they went 23-15 overall, tied for third place in the Big East with a 10-8 mark in conference games and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

After the contest with Providence, Holy Cross will continue play in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament against Stony Brook at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Friday, Nov. 16, at 6:00 p.m.
