Discussion with Bob Cousy Set for Friday Night
WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross will host a discussion on Friday, Oct. 26, featuring legendary Boston Celtic and Holy Cross Hall of Famer Bob Cousy, as well as author and acclaimed historian Gary Pomerantz, to coincide with the release of the new book “The Last Pass: Cousy, Russell, the Celtics, and What Matters in the End.” No seats for the event remain, but anyone can watch a live broadcast through the Patriot League Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
In this hour-long discussion the pair will look back on the career of the basketball legend, including his time at Holy Cross, his unparalleled championship run with the Celtics, and his relationship with fellow basketball icon Bill Russell during a time of racial divide and social change in the country.
Gary Pomerantz is the author of six nonfiction books on topics ranging from history to sports to civil rights. In “The Last Pass,” Pomerantz looks at the complexity and challenges created by our nation's history of racial inequality through the lens of professional sports.
