Women's Tennis Sweeps St. Anselm, 7-0

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women’s tennis team defeated St. Anselm, 7-0, Monday afternoon. The match's start was delayed so the teams played with a shortened format.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Senior Allison Reiling won her No. 1 singles match, 8-1.
  • No. 2 singles was won by freshman Sophia Papa, 8-1.
  • Freshman Madeline DeNucci won No. 3 singles, 8-1.
  • Senior Morgan McGuire won 8-5 in her No. 4 singles match.
  • Senior Jennifer Kary won No. 5 singles by a score of 8-1.
  • To wrap up the singles competition, senior Caroline Kam won No. 6, 8-1.
  • All three doubles pairs won their matches and combined for one team point overall.
  • Martin and Reiling won 6-0 in No. 1 doubles, Papa and McGuire 6-1 in No. 2, and Kary and Denucci swept No. 3 doubles, 6-0.

UP NEXT:

The squad will travel to Newport, R.I. to take part in the Newport Tennis Hall of Dame Doubles Festival this Friday.
