WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women’s lacrosse team was defeated at #12 Navy, 22-6. Holy Cross was led by Audrey Mandaro, with two goals, and Maggie Moriarty, with one goal and one assist.

 

Navy (9-2, 4-0 PL) opened the scoring at 27:42 to take a 1-0 lead. Holy Cross (3-8, 1-3 PL) responded to even things up at 23:50 with a goal from Maggie Moriarty, 1-1.

 

Navy tallied four consecutive goals to take a 5-1 lead before Audrey Mandaro found the back of the net for the first time of the game at 17:32. Moriarty picked up an assist on the play.

 

The Midshipmen recorded six more goals to take an 11-2 lead at 15:10 of the first half. Baker Earl scored at 12:59 to give Holy Cross its third goal of the game.

 

Between the close of the first half and the opening 16 minutes of the second half, Navy recorded 10 goals to lead, 21-3. Lauren Cunning, Mandaro, and Margaret Mitchell added consecutive Crusaders’ goals to make the game 21-6. With 47 seconds to play, the Midshipmen scored to close the game, 22-6.

 

Juliana Kubler played 29:56 minutes and made seven saves and Sophie Ochs played 30:04 minutes and made five saves.

 

Keely Connors recorded six draw controls.

  • Navy outshot Holy Cross, 44-20.
  • Navy had 16 draw controls to the Crusaders’ 14.
