Women's Track and Field Competes on Day One of New England Championships
BOSTON -- The Holy Cross women’s track and field team competed at Day One of the New England Championships, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center on Friday, February 1.
Sophomore Christa Jay Moore won the pole vault with a mark of 3.80 meters.
Junior Morgan Sanders qualified for the semifinals of the 60 meter hurdles, running a time of 9.11 seconds. Seniors Alexandra Curtin (7.78 seconds) and Sarah Friess (7.95 seconds) made it through to the semifinals in the 60 meter dash.
Curtin additionally placed fifth in the long jump with a season-best leap of 5.68 meters.
Sophomore Marina MacKinnon qualified for the finals of the 800 meters, running a season-best 2:17.08 in the prelims.
Sophomore Elizabeth Graves ran a personal record in the 5,000 meters, placing seventh with a time of 18:12.71.
Senior Lauren Rasmus ran a season-best 1:18.08 in the 500 meters, posting the 12th-best time in the event.
Sophomore Abbie Mokwuah placed 10th in the weight throw with a mark of 15.45 meters.
The New England Championships will conclude on Saturday, February 2.
