Women's Cross Country Places 14 On Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Holy Cross women's cross country team placed 14 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the conference office.
Leading Holy Cross' list of female student-athletes is freshman Emma Pace (Porter Corner, N.Y.) who earned a 3.87 grade-point average. Fellow freshman Colleen Spilka (Hamden, Conn.) posted a 3.85 grade-point average. Both are undeclared majors.
Joining Pace and Spilka on the Women's Cross Country Academic Honor Roll are seniors Brittany Chapman (Haddonfield, N.J.), Erin Duggan (Rockville Center, N.Y.), and Bethany Miczek (Leicester, Mass.), juniors Megan Hyland (Rye, N.Y.) and Lauren LaRusso (Stamford, Conn.), sophomores Kristin Burke (Guilford, Conn.), Christie Kapothanasis (Westbrook, Maine) and Meghan Lytle (Lewiston, N.Y.) and freshmen Sarah Arruda (Assonet, N.Y.), Meaghan Cassidy (South Weymouth, Mass.), Maureen McCarty (Seattle, Wash.) and Katherine Zakreski (Fair Haven, Conn.).
A total of 71 student-athletes were named to the Women's Cross Country Honor Roll. Leading the Patriot League was Bucknell with 16 members. Holy Cross was second with 14 student-athletes. In third, with 12 members, was American. Army placed nine on the Honor Roll as Colgate placed six. Rounding out the field were Lafayette (five), Lehigh (five) and Navy (four).
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the seven Patriot League sponsored fall championship sports.
