Women's Cross Country Places 14 On Honor Roll

WORCESTER, Mass. - Fourteen members of the Holy Cross women's cross country team have been selected to the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced today by the league office. The Patriot League named 84 women's cross country student-athletes to the 2008 honor roll and Holy Cross placed 14 student-athletes on the honor roll, the second most in the Patriot League. This is the second time senior Elizabeth Alizzi (Syosset, N.Y.) has received this honor and the third time for senior Colleen Spilka (Hamden, Conn.).
Junior Meghan Dunne (Mendham, N.J.) and junior Claire Luke (Delmar, N.Y.) were named to the honor roll for the second time in their career, while junior Kathleen Kasper (Worcester, Mass.) and junior Torey Strahl (Bourne, Mass.) received this honor for the first time.
Also named to the honor roll were sophomores Allison Fimognari (Wilbraham, Mass.), Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.), Margaret Molloy (West Hartford, Conn.) and Suzanne Wallace (Shoreham, N.Y.) each for the second time in their careers. Freshman Katelyn Andree (Colts Neck, N.J.), freshman Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.), freshman Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.) and freshman Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) received the honor for the first time.
To be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
