Women's Cross Country Places 11th At ECAC Championship

BRONX, N.Y. - The Holy Cross women's cross country team completed the 2008 season at the ECAC Championship in Bronx, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 22. The Crusaders finished 11th out of 23 teams. Freshman Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) led the Crusaders in the 5K run with a 14th place finish in 19:08. Freshman Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.) finished the course in 19:50, while junior Claire Luke (Delmar, N.Y.) crossed the line at the 19:56 mark. Rounding out the Holy Cross scoring group was sophomore Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.) 20:03, freshman Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.) 20:14, sophomore Margaret Molloy (West Hartford, Conn.) 20:21 and junior Meghan Dunne (Mendham, N.J.) 21:13.

The ECAC Championship was the final race in a successful season. Holy Cross competed in eight races and freshman Paige Sutherland earned three weekly Patriot League honors.
