New Britain, Conn. - The Holy Cross men's and women's cross country teams started off their season strong with second place finishes Saturday morning at the Blue Devil Invitational, hosted by Central Connecticut State University. Richard's fourth place individual time of 28:01 in the five mile race led the Crusader men. Four consecutive Crusader men finished between the times of 28:12 and 28:20: Freshman Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.), seniors John Ortolani (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Stephen Kress (Portland, Maine) and sophomore Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) finished close together in sixth through ninth places respectively. Sophomores Sebastian Fidelus (Jersey City, N.J.) and Matthew Talbot (West Hampstead, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for Holy Cross with times of 29:14 and 28:38.

Sophomore Colleen Spilka (Hamden, Conn.) trailed Alizzi by six seconds finishing in eighth. Freshman Sarah Croteau (Westminster, Mass.) was the next Crusader across the line in 20:03 with a 15th place overall finish.
