Women's Cross Country Tied For Seventh In Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's cross country team has been selected to finish tied for seventh in the 2012 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by conference coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Navy finished first in the poll with 95 points and 11 first place votes, followed by Bucknell in second with 82 points and three first place votes.

Army garnered 71 points for third and two first place votes, trailed by Colgate in fourth (58 points). Lehigh received 57 points for fifth place; American was selected sixth with 39 points, while Lafayette and Holy Cross tied for seventh place with 23 points. 
The Crusaders return 19 letterwinners from a year ago and welcome three newcomers. Holy Cross kicks off the 2012 season at the Harry Lang Invitational in Hamilton, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11:30 a.m. The race is a 5k and will be held on the campus of Colgate University.
