BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) placed 18th to lead the Holy Cross women's cross country team to a 7th place finish at the New England Championship on Satuday afternoon. Boston Collge took home the team title with 38 points, while the Crusaders finished 7th out of 39 teams with 268 points.
Sutherland crossed the finish line first for the Crusaders in 18th place overall with a time of 18:24 in the 5.017k race. Sophomore Emily Hughes (Milton, Mass.) was the second Crusader to cross the line, finishing in 44th place with a time of 18:47. Sophomore Sandra van den Heuvel (Nashua, N.H.) placed 57th with a time of 18:58, sophomore Amanda Waldron (Walpole, Mass.) finished 72nd with a time of 19:09 and senior Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.) finished 77th with a time of 19:15.
