Women's Cross Country Takes Break From Action

- The Holy Cross women's cross country team improved their overall team finish in both races last weekend from a year ago. The team finished seventh overall this year at the National Catholic Championship, one spot better than last year's eighth place finish. They also improved at the UMass – Dartmouth Invitational with an eighth place overall finish this year, jumping seven spots from last year's 15th place finish.
- For the fourth year in a row, senior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) was the first Crusader to cross the finish line at the National Catholic Championships. This year Sutherland finished in 24thplace overall with a time of 18:18.
- Freshman Samantha Schuetz (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) finished as the top Crusader for the first time in her collegiate career at the UMass – Dartmouth Invitational. Schuetz placed 35th overall with a time of 19:38.
- In the past six seasons, the Crusaders have taken the fourth weekend of September off every year. Holy Cross will race again at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa. on Sept. 30 and then gear up for the New England Championship on Oct. 8.
