Crusaders Set For Patriot League Championship

  • The Holy Cross women's cross country team travels to Easton, Pa. for the Patriot League Championship on Saturday, Oct. 30. The women's 6,000 meter race will start at 11:00 a.m.
  • At the 2009 Championship, Bucknell took home the team title while Colgate's Elise DeRoo won the individual crown. Junior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) finished in second place with a time of 22:54.6, earning first team All-Patriot League honors and becoming the eighth Holy Cross runner to earn the honor in program history and the first since 1998. In addition, Sutherland's second place finish tied the highest individual placement for a Crusader women's cross country runner at the Patriot League Championship. Nancy Sullivan finished second for Holy Cross in 1990.
  • A year ago at the Patriot League Championship, Holy Cross finished in fifth place overall, marking the team's best finish at the conference championship since 2001. The 1991 and 1992 seasons marked Holy Cross' highest team finish as the team took second out of six teams both seasons.
