DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Sarah Mellea (North Arlington, N.J.) finished 32nd to lead the Holy Cross women's cross country team to a 15th place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday afternoon. Wellesley led the team competition with 41 points, while the Crusaders finished with 427.
Mellea crossed the line with a time of 19:14 to lead the Crusaders in the 5k race. Junior Katelyn Andree (Colts Neck, N.J.) was the second Crusader to finish, placing 61st with a time of 19:56. Senior Allison Fimognari (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished 88th with a time of 20:12, senior Kathleen Kasper (Worcester, Mass.) finished 137th with a time of 20:55 and sophomore Katie Rochford (Red Bank, N.J.) placed 138th with a time of 20:56 to round out Holy Cross' top five finishers.
The Crusaders will take a break from action, returning to the cross country course on Oct. 2 at the Murray Keatinge Invitational hosted by Maine.
