Crusaders Hit The Road For Two This Week

  • Select members of the Holy Cross women's cross country team will travel Notre Dame, Ind. for the National Catholic Championship on Friday, Sept. 17, while other members of the team will travel to Dartmouth, Mass. for the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18.
  • The Fighting Irish will host the 31st Annual National Catholic Championship on Friday, Sept. 17. The men's race began in 1980, while the women's race started in 1984. Holy Cross' Mary McNaughton won the inaugural women's race in 1984 and is the only Crusader to take home first place.
  • At the 2009 National Catholic Championship, junior Paige Sutherland's (Groveland, Mass.) sixth place finish led the Crusaders to a fourth place team finish. Sutherland finished the race with a time of 18:08.4.
  • A year ago at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, freshman Kerry Dunne's (Mendham, N.J.) sister, and former co-captain for the Crusaders, Meghan led Holy Cross with a 43rd place finish and personal-best time of 19:22.
