Holy Cross' Paige Sutherland Wins Bryant Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) took first in the 5k at the Bryant Invitational to lead the Holy Cross women's cross country team in its first competition of the season. Sutherland set the pace and finished first with a time of 18:53.05, over 30 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Senior Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.) was the second Crusader to cross the line, finishing in fifth place with a time of 20:02.49. Senior Rose Calvo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) placed sixth with a time of 20:10.52, junior Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.) finished ninth with a time of 20:24.94 and sophomore Lizzie Harkins (Latrobe, Pa.) rounded out the top ten with a 10th place finish and time of 20:26.57. Freshman Liz Crowley (Longmeadow, Mass.) was the first Holy Cross rookie to cross the line, finishing in 11th place with a time of 20:27.88.

Holy Cross continues action on Sept. 11 at the Blue Devil Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State. Race time is set for 12:00 p.m.
