Holy Cross Selected Sixth In Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's cross country team has been selected to finish sixth in the 2010 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by conference coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Defending champion Bucknell finished first in the poll with 96 points and 12 first place votes, followed by Navy in second with 79 points and 3 first place votes.

Army garnered 75 points for third, trailed by Colgate in fourth (61 points, one first place vote). Lafayette received 41 points for fifth place, Holy Cross was selected sixth with 38 points, Lehigh was chosen seventh with 34 points and American was selected eighth with 20 points. 

The Crusaders return 11 letterwinners from a year ago and welcome 12 newcomers. Holy Cross kicks off the 2010 season at the Bryant Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. on Friday, Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. The race is a 5k and will be held on the campus of Bryant University.
