BOSTON, Mass. - A top ten performance by sophomore Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) led the Holy Cross women's cross country team to an 18th place team finish at the New England Championship in Boston, Mass. on Saturday afternoon. Maine's Corey Conner led the field with a time of 17:36 and Brown took home the team title out of 49 teams in the Championship.
Sutherland finished in sixth place with a time of 18:12 to lead the Crusaders. Sutherland has been the top Holy Cross performer in eight consecutive races, including four this season. Junior Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.) was the second Crusader to cross the line, finishing in 79th place with a time of 19:14. Senior Claire Luke (Delmar, N.Y.) finished with a time of 19:27, sophomore Elizabeth Humphries (Siler City, N.C.) with a time of 19:37 and sophomore Sarah Meliea (North Arlington, N.J.) with a time of 19:42.
Holy Cross will take a week off before traveling to the Central Connecticut Mini Meet on Oct. 24. The race is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
