NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Sophomore Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) led the Holy Cross women's cross country team with a sixth place finish at the National Catholic Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind. on Friday afternoon. Holy Cross claimed fourth place out of 31 teams with 158 points. Host Notre Dame took home the title with 20 points and seven of the top ten finishers.
Sutherland led the Crusaders for the second straight week, finishing in sixth place with a time of 18:08.4. Junior Jacqueline Imse (Simsbury, Conn.) was the next Crusaders across the line, finishing in 22nd place with a time of 19:13.8. Newcomer Elizabeth Harkins (Latrobe, Pa.) placed 33rd with a time of 19:24.3. Senior Claire Luke (Delmar, N.Y.) finished in 45th place with a time of 19:34.2.
Select members of the Holy Cross men's cross country team will compete on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. The team returns to competition at the Murray Keatinge Invitational on Oct. 3.
