Black Knights defeat Crusaders

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross volleyball team was defeated by Army in three games (18-30, 22-30, 28-30) Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center.

CaitlinAgotinacchio (Bellmore, N.Y.) kept the teams neck-to-neck in the third game by hitting six kills. Overall, the senior posted a game-high 13 kills and a team-high 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.

Army was led by sophomore Eileen Cassidy (Orland Park, Ill.) who registered a team-high 12 kills and a game-high 13 digs. Black Knight setter Abby Casciato (Lake Worth , Fla.) tallied a game-high 49 assists.

Junior Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) registered 8 digs, while senior libero Lauren Liesman (Winchester, Calif.) recorded five kills and seven digs.

Holy Cross falls to 1-12 overall and 0-1 in the Patriot League, while Army improves to 4-6 overall and clenches their first Patriot League win.

The Crusaders next game is slated for Friday, Oct. 1 against Patriot League rival American at 7 p.m. in Washington , D.C.
