WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to American, 3-0, in Patriot League action on Friday evening by scores of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-11. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-24 (0-13 Patriot League), while the Eagles improve to 22-7 (13-0 Patriot League).
Junior Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) led the Crusaders with seven kills, while sophomore Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and junior co-captain Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) each had seven assists. Senior co-captain libero Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led Holy Cross with six digs and two service aces. Her 105 career service aces are now fourth on the Holy Cross all-time list.
American was led by Rubena Sukaj's 12 kills and Christina Nash's 28 assists.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, when they host Patriot League opponent Navy at the Holy Cross Field House at 6:00 p.m. in the season-finale. For Senior Day, Holy Cross will honor Anderson before the match.
