Worcester, Mass.- Senior captain Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had her second double-double of the season as the Holy Cross volleyball team defeated Army, 3-2, by scores of 30-28, 30-27, 16-30, 16-30 and 15-13, in Patriot League action, on Saturday night at the Hart Center. With the win, the Crusaders conclude the 2005 season with a 7-19 overall record (3-11 PL), while the Black Knights fall to 20-6 overall (10-4 PL) as they will compete in the Patriot League Tournament next weekend.
O'Callaghan tied her season best in kills with 12 and also earned double digits in digs with 10. Three other Crusaders tallied double-doubles as sophomore Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) had 13 kills and a season best 26 digs, while freshman Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) had 14 kills and 11 digs.
Freshman Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) dished out 41 assists to give her 777 assists on the season which is good for fifth on the Holy Cross all-time single-season list. Fanning also added 16 digs to give her the double-double.
Army was led by Jamie Clark's 19 kills and Abby Casciato's 64 assists.
