WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded her fifth double-double of the year and the eighth of her career with 25 assists and 10 digs, but it was not enough as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Lafayette, 3-0, on Friday night at the Holy Cross Field House in Patriot League action, by scores of 25-10, 26-24 and 25-19. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-17 overall (0-6 Patriot League), while the Leopards improve to 7-13 overall (2-4 Patriot League).
Junior Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) led the Crusaders with eight kills, while freshmen Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) and Mallaigh McGinley (Amity Harbor, N.Y.) each had six kills. Sophomore libero Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) led the team with 13 digs.
Lafayette was led by Kayly Elmer who recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs, while Megan Carter had 39 assists. Kari Horn tied Elmer with the most digs in the match with 15.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they host Patriot League opponent Lehigh at the Holy Cross Field House at 4:00 p.m.
