EASTON, Pa. - Senior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.), sophomore Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) and sophomore Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) each recorded double-digit kills, but it was not enough as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Lafayette, 3-0, by scores of 30-28, 30-27 and 30-26 in Patriot League action on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-16 overall (0-5 Patriot League), while the Leopards improve to 10-11 overall (2-3 Patriot League).
Strawson had 14 kills, while Auger and Surface each had 10 kills. Junior libero Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led Holy Cross defensively with 14 digs, while freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 35 assists.
The Leopards were led by Katrina Racibarskas' 11 kills and Megan Carter's 40 assists.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday, October 12 when they travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to take on Patriot League opponent Bucknell at 7:00 p.m.
