Erin Cady is in her fourth season as the head volleyball coach at Holy Cross in 2014. She was named the program’s ninth head coach on April 5, 2011. Cady served as an assistant coach at Holy Cross in the 2010 season.

The Crusaders went 10-21 overall and 6-8 in the Patriot League in Cady’s first season in 2011. The Crusaders’ six Patriot League wins tied their most ever, as they previously went 6-8 in 2004 and 6-6 in 2000. Holy Cross’ fifth place finish in the league was its best since placing fifth in 2004. The Crusaders also concluded the season with three straight Patriot League victories, marking the first time they had won three straight league matches since winning four in row in the 2000 season.

Cady played an important role as an assistant coach in the 2010 season which saw the Crusaders earn 12 wins which were their most since going 12-16 in 2000. The 51 sets won by the Crusaders were the most for Holy Cross since winning 55 sets in 1989.

Prior to her time at Holy Cross, Cady spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons as a graduate assistant volleyball coach at New Hampshire. She had numerous responsibilities which included assisting in the creation and coordination of drills in daily practices, assisting with all phases of recruiting, coordinating advertising and fundraising for Dig Pink, and supervising and assigning responsibilities for the team manager. Cady also served as the volleyball camp coordinator. In addition, she earned coaching experience as the head coach of the Junior Olympic New Hampshire Seacoast 18 Elite team.

Cady had an outstanding playing career at New Hampshire, as she was a three-time All-America East Conference selection and a two-time team captain. In 2003 and 2005 she earned first team All-America East honors, while in 2004 she received honorable mention accolades. She also became only the fourth player in school history to record 1,000 career kills, and received the team’s 2005 Holly Young Most Valuable Player Award. In 2002 and 2003 she helped lead the Wildcats to a pair of America East titles and two trips to the NCAA Tournament. Cady was also strong in the classroom as she was an Academic Scholar Athlete and a member of the Dean’s List in every season, while she won the 2004 Bill Knight Scholarship. Following graduation, Cady played professional volleyball for the SWE-Volley Team in Erfurt, Germany.

Cady earned two degrees from New Hampshire: a bachelor’s degree in sociology and justice studies in 2006 and a master’s degree in kinesiology and sports studies in 2010. Cady and her husband, Stuart, were married in 2012.
