Volleyball Drops 3-0 Contest To Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Kebah Edoho tallied 14 kills for the Bison as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Bucknell, 3-0, in Patriot League action at Davis Gym on Friday night by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-13. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-25 overall (1-10 PL), while the Bison improve to 9-17 overall (3-8 PL).

Junior Christiana Blakeslee (Ashtabula, Ohio) posted her third career double-double with 21 assists and 10 digs. Senior captain Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) led the Crusaders with eight kills as she now has 1,450 career kills. Lynch, who already holds the school record, is three kills away from entering the all-time top 10 Patriot League career kills list. Senior captain Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) led the team with 13 digs giving her 1,272 for her career. The school record is 1,290. Sophomore Kamele Shizuru (Kailua, Hawaii) led the Crusaders with four blocks, while senior Callie Black (Fallon, Nev.) tallied six kills and three blocks. Sophomore Heather Roberts (San Jose, Calif.) led the team with a career-best three aces.

Kat Tauscher posted a double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs for the Bison. Leylin Marroquin led the team with 14 digs, while Edoho posted a team-best six blocks.

With the score tied at 16-16 in the first set, the Bison then won nine of the next 13 points to earn the 25-20 victory as Karen Campbell tallied a kill on set point. Edoho led the Bison with five kills, while freshman Emily Oliver (Carlsbad, Calif.) posted four kills for the Crusaders. With the Bison up three set points at 24-21, Black posted a kill to make the score 24-22. But once again Campbell tallied a kill on set point as Buckell secured a 25-23 win. Lynch led the Crusaders with five kills for the set. The Bison won the third set to clinch the sweep by a 25-13 score as Edoho posted six kills.

The Crusaders return to action when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y., on Saturday, Nov. 3, for a match versus PL opponent Colgate at 3:00 p.m.
