- The Holy Cross volleyball team will return to action when it plays Hartford on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Cross Field House. The match can be watched on Crusader Vision. The Crusaders will then travel to Smithfield, R.I., to compete in Bryant's Hampton Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15. On Friday, the Crusaders will play Akron at 6:00 p.m., while on Saturday they will meet Northern Kentucky at 10:00 a.m. and Bryant at 7:00 p.m. This is the third straight season the Crusaders will take part in a tournament at Bryant.
- Hartford is 3-8 overall so far this season. The Crusaders have lost five straight matches to the Hawks. Hartford defeated HC last season by a 3-0 score. This will be the first time the Crusaders have played Akron and Northern Kentucky. Akron is 5-4 overall so far and Northern Kentucky is 9-1 overall. Bryant, who plays New Hampshire on Sept. 11, is 4-6 overall. Last season the Crusaders lost two matches to the Bulldogs. Senior Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) posted a career-best 34 kills as the Crusaders fell to Bryant, 3-2, on Oct. 5, 2011. The Crusaders are 2-3 in their last five matches versus the Bulldogs.
- Senior Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) is the sixth Crusader in the history of the program to record over 1,000 career digs. She now has 1,034 career digs. Watters was named to the Holly Young Invitational All-Tournament team last week as she tallied 41 digs. She leads the team this season with 106.
- Watters is eighth in the conference with 3.53 digs per set. Sophomore Mary-Kate Short (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) ranks seventh in the conference with 0.80 blocks per set. Lynch is sixth in the Patriot League with 2.79 kills per set. Sophomore Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) is ninth in the league with 4.62 assists per set.
