Emily Oliver To Join Holy Cross Volleyball Program

WORCESTER, Mass.­ - Holy Cross head volleyball coach Erin Walker has announced that Emily Oliver (Carlsbad, Calif.) will join the Holy Cross program in the 2012-2013 academic year.

"We are excited to add Emily to our HCVB family, she will be a great fit for our program!" said Walker. "Her playing experience in both indoor and beach makes her a great all around player."

Oliver was a three-year member and senior captain of the varsity volleyball team at Carlsbad High School for coach Emily Andrassy. She earned 2011 first team All-League honors, while she received 2009 and 2010 honorable mention accolades. Oliver, who was a three-time member of the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team, was named the team's MVP as a senior and won the Best Attacker Award as a junior. She was also a member of the 2011 Wahine Beach Volleyball Elite Training team and placed first at the 2011 18 & under USAV Junior Beach National Championship. As a member of the San Diego Volleyball Club 18-1 for coach Ricci Luyties, she led the team in kills in 2012. Oliver also played seven years for the Solana Beach Volleyball Club as the team placed first in the Silver Division in the 2011 AAU 17-open, while she led the team in kills in 2010. The team also placed first in the 2009 Silver Division Festival 15-open. Oliver was a four-time Scholar-Athlete at Carlsbad High School.
