Volleyball Upended By Northeastern, 3-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Huskies recorded an outstanding .423 hitting percentage as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Northeastern, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Harvard Invitational by scores of 25-14, 25-8 and 25-17 at Malkin Athletic Center. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 4-10 overall, while the Huskies improve to 9-2 overall. Junior Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) was named to the Harvard Invitational All-Tournament team as she tallied 44 kills and 34 digs over the three matches. This is Lynch's fifth regular season All-Tournament honor.

Lynch and freshman Layne Hubbard (Austin, Texas) each posted six kills each, while Lynch recorded a team-best six digs. Sophomore Christiana Blakeslee (Ashtabula, Ohio) and freshman Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) each tallied six assists.

The Huskies were led by Janelle Tucker who recorded 12 kills and Ina Kamenova who posted 22 assists. Natalia Skiba earned 12 digs.   

The Crusaders return to action when they play at Central Connecticut on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m.
