STORRS, Conn. – Junior Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) recorded her fifth double-double of the season and the 32nd of her career with 13 kills and 12 digs as the Holy Cross volleyball team defeated Howard, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Connecticut Invitational at Gampel Pavilion by scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-13. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 3-3 overall, while the Bison fall to 0-8 overall. Junior Callie Black (Fallon, Nev.) was named to the All-Tournament team as she tallied 20 kills, a .450 hitting percentage and seven blocks over the three matches. This is her first career regular season All-Tournament team honor.
Junior Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) led the Crusaders with 17 digs as she has earned double-digit digs in all six matches this season. Freshman Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied 25 assists, while senior Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) recorded 11 kills and a team-best .450 hitting percentage. Colpoys also led the Crusaders with four blocks.
The Bison were led by Tosin Elebute who tallied 11 kills. Stephanie Shultis had 26 assists.
The Crusaders return to action when they hit the road to play Hartford on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
