PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded her sixth double-double of the season and the 25th of her career, but the Eagles had three players with double-digit kills as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Boston College, 3-0, on Saturday at the Brown Invitational by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-20. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 5-10 overall, while the Eagles improve to 7-5 overall. This was the third time that these two teams have played each other this season as Holy Cross has won two of three contests. The Crusaders conclude action at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, when they take on Rhode Island at 5:00 p.m.
O'Donnell reached the double-double with 24 assists and 10 digs. Sophomore Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) led the Crusader offense with 12 kills, while she also had six digs. She has recorded double-digit kills in 13 of the 15 matches this season. Junior Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) was very accurate on the day as she posted six kills on nine attempts with just one error for a team-best .556 hitting percentage. Freshman Alex Aycock (Jonesboro, Ark.) also tallied six kills.
The Eagles were led by Kristen Baader who recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs, while Krissy Mussendeny had 28 assists. Krystle Higgins was strong at the net with six total blocks as she also added 10 kills. Tsvetelina Dureva tallied 11 kills.
