Volleyball Picked Eighth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross volleyball team has been picked eighth in the 2010 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Army was picked to finish first as it earned nine of 16 first place votes and 92 total points. American had seven first place votes and 90 total points as it was picked to finish second, followed by Colgate (74 total points), Lehigh (62 total points), Bucknell (49 total points), Lafayette (29 total points), Navy (28 total points) and Holy Cross (24 total points).

The Crusaders are set to start the 2010 season when they co-host the Beanpot Classic with Boston College. On Aug. 27, the Crusaders will play Boston College (10:30 a.m.), Quinnipiac (2:00 p.m.) and Northeastern (7:00 p.m.) at the Holy Cross Field House, while on Aug. 28, the tournament moves to Power Gym in Chestnut Hill, Mass., as the Crusaders will meet Fordham (10:30 a.m.).
