WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) and junior setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) each recorded double-doubles, but the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Colgate, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Holy Cross Field House by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-17. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 4-20 overall (2-7 Patriot League), while the Raiders improve to 10-11 (7-2 Patriot League).
Lynch posted 15 kills and 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. She has recorded double-digit kills 16 times. O'Donnell tallied 28 assists and 10 digs giving her eight double-doubles on the season and 19 for her career. She now has 754 assists this season which are eighth on the Holy Cross all-time single-season assists list. Sophomore Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) had seven kills, while freshman Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) had nine digs. Watters led the team with three service aces and freshman Callie Black (Fallon, Nev.) led the team with three blocks.
Colgate was led by Kaleigh Durket who had 11 kills and Kaylee Dougherty who had 10 kills. Meghan Fanta tallied 25 assists, while Devon Applegate posted 11 digs.
The Crusaders return to action when they play a Patriot League match at first-place Army on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 5:00 p.m.
