PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brianna Williamson had 17 kills and 17 digs for the Bears as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Brown, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center, to conclude the Brown Invitational by scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-13 and 25-21. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-11 overall, while the Bears improve to 3-6 on the season. On Friday night, Brown defeated Holy Cross, 3-2.
Freshman Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) led the Crusaders with nine kills, while she also had 14 digs. She has recorded double-digit digs six times this season. Three more Crusaders had double-digit digs as junior libero Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) also had 14, senior Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) had 12 and freshman Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) had 11. Chisholm has now tallied double-digit digs seven times and Watters has six times. Sophomore Kathleen Colpoys (Scituate, Mass.) tallied eight kills and led the team with four blocks. Junior setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 31 assists.
Spencer McAndrews tallied 51 assists for Brown.
The Crusaders return to action when play at Harvard on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m.
