Holy Cross Set To Compete At ECAC Championship

  • Qualifying members of the Holy Cross women's track and field team will travel to Princeton, N.J. for the ECAC Outdoor Championship. At the 2008 ECAC Outdoor Championship, junior Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished in 31st place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.07. Reid then teamed up with sophomore M. Siobhan Straub (Mattituck, N.Y.), sophomore Caitlin White (Miller Place, N.Y.) and senior Dannielle Meder (Chicopee, Mass.) in the 4x100 meter relay to place 24th with a time of 48.45. The 4x800 meter relay team of senior Alexandra Swiatocha (Mahopac, N.Y.), senior Katie Clay (Beverly, Mass.), junior Maureen Meagher (Allentown, Pa.) and sophomore Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.) finished 19th in a time of 9:19.31.

  • At the 2009 ECAC Indoor Championship, senior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) broke her own Holy Cross school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.70 meters.

  • At last weekend's New England Championship, Bautista reset her record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.75 meters and taking first place. The 4x100 meter relay, ran by Straub, Reid, White and Bautista finished in third place with a new school record time of 47.58 seconds.
