WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross sophomore Caitlin White (Miller Place, N.Y.) has been named the Patriot League Female Track Performer of the Week for her performance at the Penn Relays and the Brown Springtime Invitational the week of April 20-26. This is the first time White has received this honor.
At the Penn Relays on April 22-24, White was a member of the record setting sprint medley relay team that broke the school record, set in 1988, by a crushing 26 seconds with a new time of 4:06.66. White was also a member of the record breaking 4x200 relay team that set a new record with a time of 1:42.82. The previous record of 1:47.50 was set at the Penn Relays in 2005. White also ran in the 4x100 relay.
White returned to New England to run in the Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday, April 26 where she took ninth in the 200 with a time of 26.22 seconds and 13th in the 100 with a time of 12.94 seconds.
The women's track and field team is preparing to compete in the Patriot League Championship in West Point, N.Y., May 1-2.
