WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Dannielle Meder (Chicopee, Mass.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 26-April 1. Last week, Meder helped lead the Holy Cross women's track and field team to a third place finish in a five-team meet at UMass.
In Saturday's meet, Meder finished second in three individual events: the triple jump (10.57 meters), the 100-meter hurdles (15.34 seconds) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.40). She also came in fourth in the long jump (4.96 meters), and ran a leg on the 4x400-meter relay team which finished fourth (4:04.57).
Individually, Meder accounted for 28 of Holy Cross' 133 points in the meet. In addition, the relay team she was a part of gave the Crusaders an additional four points.
The Crusaders return to action this coming weekend with a pair of meets. Part of the Holy Cross team will travel to Williamsburg, Va., for the Colonial Relays on April 6-7, while others will head to Durham, N.H., for the Wildcat Invitational on April 7.
