Crusaders Prepare For New England Indoor Championships

  • At the Patriot League Championships, the Crusaders finished in fourth place with 79 points, while Navy took first with 151 points, Bucknell finished second with 142 points and Army took third with 94 points. Lehigh (64), Colgate (52), Lafayette (30) and American (8) rounded out the bottom four teams. Holy Cross' fourth place finish as a team was its best at the Patriot League Championship since 1993, when it finished third.

  • At the Championships, senior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) took second and qualified for the ECAC Championships in the pole vault with a season-best height of 3.60 meters. Junior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) repeated as Patriot League Champion in the pentathlon, scoring 3,432 points. Pruszko also finished fourth in the 400 dash with a season-best time of 58.64. The 4x800 meter relay team, ran by freshman Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.), sophomore Courtney Burgess (Dracut, Mass.), freshman Alison Nadeau (Norfolk, Mass.) and junior Maureen Meagher (Allentown, Pa.) placed third with an ECAC qualifying time of 9:05.59.

  • Pruszko earned first team All-League honors for her first place finish in the pentathlon, while Bautista earned second team All-League honors for her second place finish in the pole vault.

  • The Crusaders will continue indoor competition at the New England Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-28 and at the ECAC Indoor Championships on March 7-8.
