Crusaders Prepare For Valentine Invitational

  • Holy Cross defeated Maine, 91-87, and took first at the Maine Open held in the UMaine Field House in Orono, Maine.

  • At the Maine Open, senior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) led the Crusaders with two first place finishes. Bautista took first in the pole vault with a New England Indoor Championship qualifying height of 3.5 meters. Bautista also finished first in the long jump with a distance of 5.28 meters. Senior Dannielle Meder (Chicopee, Mass.) and freshman Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) took first and second in the 55 meter hurdles with New England Indoor Championship qualifying times of 8.64 and 8.68 respectively. Junior Maureen Meagher (Allentown, Pa.) finished with a first place finish in the one mile run with a New England Indoor Championship qualifying time of 5:00.66. Junior Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) also qualified for the New England Indoor Championships with a first place finish in the 500 meter run with a time of 1:19.23. Junior Rachel Amaral (Raynham, Mass.) finished first in the weight throw with a qualifying distance of 15.86 meters.

  • Holy Cross travels to Boston, Mass. on Friday, Feb. 13 for the Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.

  • Last season at the Valentine Invite, junior Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y) set a new school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.57. Pruszko broke the school record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.64.
