CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Seniors Lauren Courtney (Ashland, Mass.) and Andrew Maggio (Chelmsford, Mass.) led the Holy Cross track and field teams with top finishes Saturday night at the Harvard Open in Cambridge, Mass. Courtney finished the 400 meter dash in 58.86 seconds, placing third, while Maggio finished the 60 meter dash in sixth place with a time of 7.14 seconds.
For the women's team, freshman Alison Nadeau (Norfolk, Mass.) placed fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.43, followed by junior Maureen Meagher (Allentown, Pa.) in sixth place with a time of 2:22.49 and freshman Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) in eighth place with a time of 2:22.96.
In the field events, senior Katherine Clifford (Norwood, Mass.) led the Crusaders in the weight throw championship division with a third place finish and a throw of 13.66 meters, while freshman Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) and senior Chelsea Hinchey (Orange, Conn.) placed first and second in the weight throw open division with throws of 11.96 meters and 11.48 meters. Culkeen placed fifth in the shot put championship division with a throw of 11.60 meters, while in the open division, junior Chantal Couture (Taunton, Mass.) placed second with a throw of 10.56 meters.
For the men's team, junior Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.) finished 10th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.01 and sophomore Connor LaClair (Hyde Park, Vt.) finished 16th in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:09.83. In the field events, freshman Eric Oldiges (Taylor Mill, Ky.) led the Crusaders with a fifth place finish in the shot put open division with a throw of 12.51 meters.
Holy Cross continues competition on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Boston University Mini Series in Boston, Mass.
