Crusader Women Compete In Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Selected members of the Holy Cross women's track and field team took part in the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational at the University of Virginia on Saturday afternoon.

Highlighting the day for the Crusader women were the performances of freshman Lauren Courtney (Ashland, Mass.) and senior Courtney Walls (Tewksbury, Mass.).

The teammates tied for 10th overall in the pole vault, both clearing a height of 10'6" in a field of 37.

Courtney also put together a strong showing in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.39 which placed her 19th in the 55-woman field.

Senior Emily Winacoo (Holden, Mass.) took 30th in the 400-meter event with a time of 1:00.88.

The Holy Cross women will host a two-day hepathlon beginning Wednesday, April 19 at 12:00 p.m. in Worcester, Mass.
