DURHAM, N.H. - Junior Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) kept her unbeaten streak alive as the Holy Cross women's track and field team competed at the Wildcat Invitational in Durham, N.H. on Saturday, April 4.
Reid took first in the 100 dash with a New England Outdoor Championship qualifying time of 12.27 seconds. Sophomore M. Siobhan Straub (Mattituck, N.Y.) finished third with a time of 12.72 seconds. Reid also place first in the 200 dash with a New England qualifying time of 25.37 seconds.
Senior Lauren Courtney (Ashland, Mass.) finished second in the 400 with a New England qualifying time of 58.53 seconds. Freshman Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.) placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:18.31. Junior Sarah Croteau (Westminster, Mass.) placed first in the 5,000 with a New England qualifying time of 18:05.00, while freshman Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) also qualified for the New England Championships in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.50 seconds. Senior Elizabeth Alizzi (Syosset, N.Y.) finished second in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 12:01.66.
In the field events, the Crusaders were led by senior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) with a first place finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.35 meters. Holy Cross swept the discus, freshman Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) took first with a distance of 35.87 meters, junior Rachel Amaral (Raynham, Mass.) finished second with a distance of 35.56 meters and senior Katherine Clifford (Norwood, Mass.) finished third with a distance of 34.94 meters. Culkeen also placed second in the shot put with a distance of 11.82 meters and Clifford placed second in the hammer throw with a New England qualifying distance of 46.55 meters. Junior Chantal Couture (Taunton, Mass.) placed second in the javelin throw with a distance of 34.41 meters.
The Crusaders continue outdoor competition at the Northeastern Invitational hosted by Northeastern University in Dedham, Mass. on Saturday, April 11 starting at 10:00 a.m.
