Crusaders Place First at Tech Track Indoor Classic

Cambridge, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's indoor track and field team placed first at the TechTrack Indoor Classic hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with 209.5 points.

Senior captain Lindsey Bomar (Bristol, Conn.) qualified for the New England Championships after placing first in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:05.30. Also competing in the event was senior Erin Mosely (Carlise, Mass.), who place fourth with a time of 3:14.37 and Jaclyne Manzi (Plymouth, N.H.), who finished eighth with a time of 3:15.85.

Junior Meghan Carrette (North Reading, Mass.) place first in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.64 and finished first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.45. Sophomore Kaitlyn Mearn (Milton, Mass.) came in fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.33, while freshman Jaime Curley (Bolton, Mass.) finished eighth with a time of 28.74.

Senior captain Elizabeth Desmond (Portland, Maine) finished first in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:44.43, while senior Michela Byrne (Portland, Ore.) finished sixth in the event with a time of 11:29.50.

Tying for first in the pole vault was junior Courtney Walls (Tewksbury, Mass.) and junior Jessica Fallon (Nashua, N.H.), after clearing 3.07 meters.

The Crusaders' 4x200 meter relay team finished first with a time of 1:51.59. The 4x400 and 4x800 teams both placed third with time of 4:23.71 and 10:32.50, respectively.

In the triple jump freshman Amanda Dupuis (East Sandwich, Mass.) finished first with a jump of 10.00 meters. Sophomore Kerilyn Anderson (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) placed fourth with a jump of 9.57 meters, while and freshman Christina Grass (Holyoke, Mass.) came in fifth with a jump of 9.47 meters.

Dupuis also competed in the 55 meter hurdles and finished fifth with a time of 9.47

In the high jump Carrette placed second, clearing 1.57 meters, as senior captain Bethany Miczek (Leicester, Mass.) and junior Meghan Mullaney (Scicuate, Mass.) both came in sixth, clearing 1.47 meters. Miczek also competed in the shot put and placed fifth with a throw of 10.52.

In the 600 meter dash junior Emily Winacoo (Holden, Mass.) placed second with a time of 1:41.31, while freshman Jillian Edmunds (Salem, N.H.) came in third with a time of 1:42.28.

Competing in the long jump was Anderson, who finished second with a leap of 16-06.00.

Newcomer Katie Spinelli (Southington, Conn.) ran in 400 meter dash and finished third with a time of 1:03.58, as senior captain Sara Simeone (Nashua, N.H.) finished fourth with a time of 1:03.64. Junior Christine Carroll (North Merrick, N.Y.) finished eighth in the event with a time of 1:06.60.

Running in the 800 meter dash was sophomore Kara Plunkett (Topsfield, Mass.), who finished second with a time of 2:27.61 and freshman Christine Carifio (Haverhill, Mass.), who finished third with a time of 2:27.85.

In the one mile run senior Erin Moseley (Carlisle, Mass.) placed second with a time of 5:23.98. Senior Elizabeth Corridan (Holliston, Mass.) came in fourth with a time of 5:38.88 in the event. Placing seventh and eighth was senior Laura Snebold (Winchester, Mass.) and sophomore Elizabeth Bloomer, respectively. Snebold finished with a time of 5:48.74, while Bloomer came in with a time of 5:49.93.

Junior Rebecca Cole finished fourth in the weight throw after heaving of 11.61 meters.
