Women's Track and Field Takes Eighth In Reebok Boston Indoor Games with 31.66 Points

Boston, Mass. - The men's and women's track and field team traveled to Boston, Mass. to compete in the Reebok Boston Indoor games. The men's team took sixth place with 45.50 points while the women's team took eighth place with 31.66 points. Rhode Island won the meet for the men with 132 points and Boston won for the women with 170.66 points. The men had 10 Crusaders place in the top ten. The women had 17 top ten finishes.

For the men, senior Thomas Harrison (Wilmington, N.C.) led the team with 16 points. He took seventh in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.20, second in the long jump with a distance of 22-05.75, and third in the long jump with a distance of 44-08.75.

Placing highest for the men's team was junior Sebastian Fidelus (Jersey City, N.J.) with his first place finish in the 800-meter with a time of 1:54.17 just edging out Williams college for the win. Sophomore Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) took second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:13.60. Junior Stephen Mandravelis (Nashua, N.H.) had a fifth place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 51-02.75.

On the women's side sophomore Rachel Amaral (Raynham, Mass.) took third in the weight throw with a distance of 47-08 to lead the Crusaders along with the 4x400-meter relay team who also took third with a time of 3:58.23 included junior Lauren Tallon (Lake Forest, Ill.), sophomore Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.), junior Sophia Grammenos (Gardner, Mass.) and freshman Cassandra Anderson (Saugus, Mass.).

Other top women finishers included freshman Dannielle Meder (West Hartford, Conn.) with a time of 8.77 and a fourth place finish in the 55-meter hurdles. Senior Amanda Dupuis (East Sandwich, Mass.) finished 5th in the triple jump with a distance of 34-02.75. Junior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) finished fifth in the pole vault with a height of 11-03.75.

The Crusaders compete again in Orono, Maine on February 2nd. Start time is set for 11:00 am.
