Women's Track & Field Races At ECAC Championship

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Caroline Carley (Barrington, Ill.) finished fifth overall in the 1,500-meter run as the Holy Cross women's outdoor track and field team wrapped up the 2014 season at the ECAC Outdoor Championship on Saturday and Sunday at Princeton. Carley finished with a career-fastest time of 4:28.05, less than two seconds off the Holy Cross record pace set by Jackie McNiff in 1983.

Senior Emily Hughes (Milton, Mass.) posted a sixth place finish in the 3,000-meter run with the fastest outdoor time of her career in the event at 9:58.73. Senior Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.) competed in the 100 and 200-meter dashes finishing in 26th (12.18) and 30th (24.86), respectively, while junior Brianna Tabin (South Hadley, Mass.) took 31st (12.29) in the 100.

The 4x800-meter relay team comprised of junior Abigail Mitchell (Manchester, N.H.), Carley, senior Lauren Bellerose (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and sophomore Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.) finished 13th with a time of 9:03.46. The 4x100-meter relay team also posted a 16th place finish as the team of Tabin, junior Mackenzie Arndt (Merrimack, Mass.), junior Katie Bobinski (Torrington, Conn.) and Okpoebo finished at 48.07.
