Women's Track & Field Eyes Return To Patriot League Championship

  • The women's track and field team will return to action on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship, hosted by Lehigh. The action is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, each starting with events in the heptathlon.
  • Last season, Holy Cross hosted the Patriot League Championship at the Hart Track. On day one of competition, sophomore Mackenzie Arndt (Merrimack, Mass.) led the team with a second place finish and height of 3.70 meters in the pole vault to earn second team All-Patriot League honors. Junior Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.), senior Melanie Forte (Milford, N.H.), sophomore Brianna Tabin (South Hadley, Mass.) and sophomore Julia Levesque (West Simsbury, Conn.) each qualified for the final heats in their respective events.
  • On the second and final day of competition, Okpoebo took first place in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes to earn first team All-Patriot League honors. The 4x100-meter relay team of Okpoebo, Tabin, Forte and Bobinski also set a new Holy Cross record with a first place finish and time of 47.02 seconds. Senior Brittany Gorski (Tewksbury, Mass.) also took home a second place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.01 to earn second-team all Patriot League honors. The Crusaders finished in sixth place in the team competition.
