WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named M-F Athletic Patriot League Female Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Duke Invitational (4/5-4/6), as announced by the league. Okpoebo hit ECAC-qualifying times in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.
Okpoebo sprinted to a fourth place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.10, after qualifying for the final with a time of 11.92. She also recorded a time of 24.19 to take seventh place in the 200-meter dash. Both marks were the best in the Patriot League during the outdoor season, and the 200-meter time set a Holy Cross school record. Okpoebo also ran on the Holy Cross 4x100-meter relay team that just missed an ECAC time with a finish of 48.10.
This is the second time this season Okpoebo has been named M-F Athletic Female Track Athlete of the Week this season, first receiving the honor during the indoor season on Dec. 3 after her performance at the Jay Carisella Invitational (12/1).
The Holy Cross women's track and field team will return to competition on Saturday, April 13, at the UMass Invitational beginning at 11:30 a.m.
