Women's Track & Field Set For New England Outdoor Championship

- Select members of the women's track and field team will compete in the New England Championship this weekend, May 11-12. The Crusaders will send 27 student-athletes to the two-day event at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
- Last season, the Crusaders finished sixth of 32 participating schools at the New England Championship. The 4x800-meter relay team comprised of senior Katelyn Hartnett (Danvers, Mass.), graduates Courtney Burgess and Cassandra Anderson and junior Kathleen Brekka (Hubbardston, Mass.) led the way with a first place finish and time of 9:02.32. Sophomore Stephanie Okpoebo (Chelmsford, Mass.) finished fourth in both the 100-meter (12.16) and 200-meter (25.62) dashes and senior Paige Sutherland (Groveland, Mass.) finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:41.66. Seniors Alexandria Culkeen (Beverly, Mass.) and Erin Linnehan (Litchfield, N.H.) each finished in sixth place with Culkeen throwing the shot up 12.83 meters and Linnehan crossing the finish line in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.56 seconds.
- The Crusaders hosted the Patriot League Championship last weekend (5/4-5) at the Hart Track and finished in sixth place. Okpoebo earned 20 points individually for winning the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and ran in the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays which gathered eight and four points, respectively.
